There's no doubt that having a wedding in Miami Beach sounds good in itself, but when you introduce a hotel as original as the Freehand Miami that's full of color, you give it a tropical style and you have some brides and grooms who are into it... The result is a super fun wedding! Marilies and Connor's Miami Beach wedding is one of the most original weddings we've ever done and if you've seen the wedding video you'll know why we say that!

Working as a wedding videographer in Miami Beach has been a dream come true

We have always wanted to work as wedding videographers in Miami, it was one of the destinations where we most wanted to record a wedding video. It will be because of our love of cinema, our passion for pop culture, because we are crazy about skyscrapers... What do I know!

Besides, when you do a wedding in Miami Beach you feel a bit at home, especially us who are used to doing wedding videos in Ibiza, Menorca, Mallorca... Where the palm trees, the sun, the beach and the tropical style are the protagonists... And there is no better combination to celebrate a fun wedding.

Marlies and Connor are from Chicago but have been living in London for years. They have a true devotion to the Freehand Miami Hotel so they decided that this would be the ideal place to meet their family and friends who came from the north of the United States and celebrate their wedding in Miami Beach.

The Creatives LoftMarlies and Connor's funky wedding was brought to life by the Miami-based wedding planner and one of the best in the world. For a full weekend, the bride and groom and all their guests stayed at Freehand Miami, including us! The truth is that we think it's a super cool experience for a destination wedding to be able to spend three days with all your friends and family. This is very common and we usually see it at destination weddings in Europe, where the bride and groom choose to get married at estates where they can also stay with their guests to make their destination wedding an experience.

The Freehand Miami Hotel is perfect for a fun, tropical-style wedding

The Freehand Miami hotel is a reinvention of the historic Indian Creek Hotel, one of the classic art deco buildings in Miami Beach. It's just a few feet from the beach and has a modern design, with a lush outdoor terrace, pool, cocktail bar... The hotel stands out for its original decoration, with pieces made by local artists. It's undoubtedly a perfect place to celebrate a fun wedding in Miami Beach (in this sense, it's very reminiscent of The Confidante hotel, also located in the same area). Nothing like the more classic and elegant style of weddings held at the Vizcaya museum gardens, another place where we'd love to shoot a wedding video in Miami.

Working as wedding videographers in Miami was certainly a priority to make the most of the hotel, as it was so important in the wedding. So we started the day by making a lot of details of the walls with graffiti, the designer furniture and also the colorful and funky decoration that The Creatives Loft had designed for this wedding in Miami along with Primrose Floras in charge of the floral design, Unearthed Rentals with the furniture and Illumene for the lighting and placing a super disco ball in the middle of the pool! All the elements were ready to make a cool and fun wedding.

Recording the bride and groom walking around South Beach is a must for a wedding video in Miami Beach

With Marlies and Connor we went to Miami Beach for their portraits, touring the Art Deco district and the most famous streets of this part of town: Ocean Drive, Collins Avenue and Lincoln Road. On our return, the guests were already starting the welcome cocktail with some original coconuts personalized with the initials of the bride and groom. Meanwhile, Marlies and Connor took the opportunity to have their typical pictures taken of the bride and groom with the best man... but nothing to do with the traditional pictures, it was a super fun and original moment with a tropical style wall as a background!

An informal and casual ceremony with the guests sitting around the pool and the bride and groom in front of them saying "I do" on top of a balcony... Tell us if this isn't a fun and original wedding! A delicious buffet and a great party on the super terrace of Freehand Miami. And the cherry on top of this wedding, the bride and groom, fully dressed, jumped into the pool followed by their younger guests who went behind.

Without a doubt, Marlies and Connor's wedding was super original and that's why we wanted to make a creative wedding video that could reflect very well how a fun wedding in Miami Beach is. Did you like it? If so, we invite you to see other weddings of this style, such as the fun wedding of Marta and Alex at the Castell de Ben Viure or Salva and Anthea in Majorca.
